What: Film Screening of Paper Dolls and Discussion
When: Saturday, September 29th 7pm
Where: UW Ethnic Cultural Center, 1100 NE Campus Parkway, Seattle WA 98105

Pin@y sa Seattle is proud to screen “Paper Dolls”, a documentary about transgendered Filipino caretakers and domestic workers working and performing in Israel. You can watch the “Paper Dolls” trailer here:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QNRjvI9bD7I

“Paper Dolls” embodies the work that we as Pin@y sa Seattle strive to do, from fighting for gender justice that is grounded in the National Democratic movement, to addressing issues of diaspora and economic and physical violence, which Filipina migrant workers are facing.

We wish to facilitate a dialogue in our community centering on the experiences of the most marginalized Filipina women, and honor the devotion they have for their people and hard work they do everyday.

We will begin at 7 pm with a short introduction, the film will run 80 minutes, and the discussion and performances will follow.

Pin@y sa Seattle is a queer-friendly organization open to self-identifying Filipina women to join.
