On Saturday, September 14, we invite you to join us for a cultural sharing from local community organizers about their recent exposure trip to the Philippines. Tahanan (home in Tagalog) will feature stories from 2 BAYAN members from Pin@y sa Seattle and Alay ng Kultura about their experience in the homeland and the growing social movement for human rights and economic justice.
An exposure trip program is designed to expose those to the true current conditions and pressing issues of the Philippines and visit with different community organizations who are working to address those issues. Our recent exposurists had the opportunity to integrate with different sectors such as the urban poor, LGBTQ, indigenous tribes, environmentalists, and women. We hope you can join us as they share powerful stories of resistance and how lessons learned can be applied here in the US.
Saturday, September 14th
7 p.m.-9 p.m.
WAPI DUNGEON (3722 South Hudson Street, Seattle).
Suggested donation $5-$20, but no one will be turned away for lack of funds.
